As I have already said, your success is all about managing your time more effectively. Therefore, let me give you some tips to help you find the best ways to increase your mental health in your music career.

Time blocking is a great way for effective time management. This is because you will know exactly what you need to do and when. This will enable you to organise your music career and also give you a heightened sense of achievement once you have your day and your tasks complete.

Google Calendar is completely free and it provides you with everything you need. You can time block time in the future. It will also help you to remember certain tasks that need to be maintained. Time blocking will also help you to keep organised because Google will alert you every time you add something to your calendar. Google Calendar really is a great tool if you want to manage your time more effectively. The alarm will sound 30 minutes before a task is to be done and also when the task is to start.

Strategy #2: How to Boost Your Mental Health by Taking a Walk Every Day

As musicians, many of us work from the comfort of our own homes. While the commute is easy to manage, we can easily become recluses and stay at home all day every day without getting out, getting a breath of fresh air and meeting others. This is a dangerous way to act and it is not the way to boost your mental health. In fact, becoming a recluse will negatively affect your day-to-day life if you let it. Taking a walk is an essential part of time management for musicians or anyone who works from home.

Therefore, you should take a walk every day. In my view, it is best to take a walk either earlier in the morning before the rush hour traffic or at lunchtime when you have a little time to get out.

Again, keeping a diary should go hand-in-hand with time blocking. The only difference is that with a diary, you are planning your tasks two weeks in advance. Instead o\f saying, “Write a blog post” (as you would in time blocking), you are making a note of a potential title. If you can keep to this strategy, you will save time because you will know exactly what you are writing about and when.

You may get great results in one campaign. The following day, you may run a campaign and get very poor results. You will be left feeling deflated and discouraged.

Therefore, if you want to learn how to boost your mental health in your work, you should focus on other metrics. These would include experiences, people and the amount of fun you have. A music career should be all of these things first and foremost. Therefore, you should discount money, streams and follows. If you can say that you had a great experience, helped more people and had more fun, this should be your success meter.

A few years ago, I had a very successful Twitter account. I was in the top ten most followed accounts in my region. I had around 20,000 followers. However, I was never satisfied. Looking back at it now, I am glad my account got suspended because I had the wrong attitude. It wasn’t about who I was following, but who was following me. I would unfollow an ideal Twitter account and follow accounts that spoke in languages I couldn’t even understand. This was the wrong way to go and I was never satisfied.

It is experiences like this that you need to avoid. Don’t do it for the numbers. You have to do it for your own experiences. Even if you fail, it could still offer a great experience because you can learn more from bad experiences than you can from good experiences. Therefore, don’t look at a failure in a negative light. A failure can be just as positive as a success.
