MAutoPitch

If you have a hard time singing in tune, don’t worry! MAutoPitch is here. This plugin is completely free. That’s why I have chosen it for Freebie Friday. However, you may not want to use an automatic tuning plugin. It depends what you are trying to do with your music, your vocal ability and also even if you’re going to be using your voice or not. As you will know, with Krannaken, we don’t use vocal parts as a rule. The reason for this is because I like to be completely abstract. I want different people to imagine what they want to and not have images from the music dictated to them. In this review, we are going to go through the Plugin Boutique rating system and see what I think of this whole plugin.

What Do I Like About MAutoPitch?

Firstly, I like the fact that the plugin has different effects onboard. It has EQ, reverb, compressors, stereo imaging capabilities and more.

The kid in the video above has a terrific voice, but he is still using MAutoPitch. Therefore, you can use this with a great voice. The video compares MAutoPitch with the Logic Pro Flex stock plugin. You can hear a difference with MAutoPitch. Therefore, the plugin is like an insurance that keeps you in tune. If you have an off-day, it can also be used. This is great for that reason.

However, with the effects – I like the effects. However, if you autotune your voice out, it could sound terrible. So, where does this MAutoPitch stand as far as the Plugin Boutique rating system goes.

Sound Quality of MAutoPitch

I like the fact that it keeps you in key. However, it is essential that you also step outside of the box. What can you do with this creatively? There are a tonne of different vocal dynamic paths that can be adopted to make a voice sound completely different. I like the way that the kid in the video can sound like a much older person with the MAutoPitch. It would also be possible to make the boy sound like a chipmunk. Whatever you want to do with vocals, I recommend that you give this one a shot.

On the downside, the guy in the video thought that MAutoPitch didn’t sound as great as the stock plugin. He is used to his son’s voice. This kid is a real Michael Jackson wannabe. Who knows? You may be listening to the next Michael.

I give MAutoPitch a 4/5 for sound quality.

Value For Money

As it is a completely free plugin, this doesn’t really count. However, I wouldn’t go out and purchase the full copy. This is not because I think it’s poor. It’s actually a pretty cool plugin. However, as you will know, I don’t use vocals in my music as I like its abstract quality. I am useless at writing lyrics anyway. However, I believe that if you are going to use vocals in your music, this is a pretty cool option.

As it is free, I’ll give it a N/A.

Ease of Use

There is no right or wrong way to use this plugin. As with all plugins, it is down to the artist to get the sounds you want. However, it looks pretty simple to get a desired sound out of it. Just switch on any of the effects, play with the compression, change the pitch and you can have a pretty good sound from it.

I give it 5 stars for ease of use.

Features of MAutoPitch

This is more than just a plugin that can tune your pitching so you’re singing in key. It has the artistic ability in it’s offer of a multitude of effects and the fact that you can pitch up and down into any key of any octave that you are trying to emulate.

I give it a 5 star rating for Features.

Presets

This just adds to it’s creative ability to get you any sound you desire. From what I see in the video, there are some great presets that you can call up easily.

I give it 5 stars for presets.

Overall

With it’s capabilities, I think it deserves a high rating. However, the guy in the video actually thought that the sound quality of the stock plugin was better.

I give it 4 stars overall.
